CASE STUDY / AI × FORMULA 1

a frontier ai company, onto the formula 1 grid

Unbound connected a US-based AI infrastructure company with senior stakeholders at McLaren in Formula 1. This was a connector role: a warm, high-context introduction that kicked off an ongoing, public collaboration, then we stepped out so both teams could build it.

THE CHALLENGE

A US-based AI infrastructure company building ultra-fast inference hardware and cloud wanted to prove its technology in a high-stakes, real-time environment. Frontier compute is hard to make legible outside the field, and it needed a stage that signals performance, precision, and trust to a global audience.

WHAT WE DID
01

The right people

We identified the specific people who should talk on the McLaren side, rather than a generic introduction.

02

A high-context introduction

We made a warm, high-context introduction and framed the fit so each party understood immediately why the other was worth their time.

03

Then we stepped out

We stepped out so both teams could evaluate fit, negotiate, and build on their own. The collaboration is now public, with the AI company supporting real-time data and decision workflows on and around race weekends.

  • This was a connector role. We made a warm, high-context introduction to senior stakeholders at McLaren in Formula 1 and framed the fit, which helped kick off an ongoing, public collaboration. The teams did the rest, so we do not overclaim the partnership itself.
